As an advanced and mature production technology and equipment, permanent magnet variable frequency air compressors are widely used in many fields such as steel, petroleum, electrical appliances, feed, pharmaceutical manufacturing, chemical industry, power plants, printing, and food. Compared with the first generation piston air compressor and the second generation screw air compressor, the permanent magnet variable frequency air compressor has zero transmission loss, 100% efficiency, and is more energy-efficient and power-saving!
But do you know the faults and solutions caused by water ingress into the lubricating oil of the air compressor?
Three types of lubricating oil inlet faults in permanent magnet variable frequency air compressors
Accumulation of condensate water causes incorrect oil level readings
According to the operating requirements of permanent magnet variable frequency air compressors, the compressor should have a lower operating time to prevent the formation of condensation water, which can cause rusting of cylinder valve plates, frame components, etc. The accumulation of condensed water in the crankcase may cause incorrect oil level readings. Water and oil cannot mix, and their coexistence causes rapid deterioration of oil. The lower operating time is generally not less than 10 minutes, which should be sufficient to heat the air compressor to the moisture of gasification and condensation. At present, the operating time of air compressors is 7 minutes, which obviously does not meet the requirements.
The exhaust water content of the 2 permanent magnet variable frequency air compressors seriously exceeds the standard
Due to the long shutdown time of the permanent magnet variable frequency air compressor, the water generated by the exhaust accumulates around the pipeline and check valve, causing the water to flow back into the inside of the chassis. The water content of the lubricating oil gradually increases, resulting in an oil level alarm and a fault shutdown of the permanent magnet variable frequency air compressor. When dismantling the outlet pipeline of the air compressor during shutdown, it was found that there was a large amount of milky white liquid flowing out of the pipeline, indicating that the exhaust water content of the permanent magnet variable frequency air compressor exceeded the standard severely.
The gas water separator cannot effectively separate the moisture generated during the compression process
The outlet pipeline of the permanent magnet variable frequency air compressor is equipped with a check valve, and the high-temperature and high-pressure humid air is discharged through the exhaust valve of the air compressor. After passing through the rear stage cooler, it still carries some oil and water components. Although the second and third stage intercoolers and the final stage cooler of the permanent magnet variable frequency air compressor are equipped with air-water separators to separate the moisture generated during the compression process, the actual operating effect is not ideal.
Lubricating oil inlet treatment method
1. Automatic discharge solenoid valve:
An automatic discharge solenoid valve is installed at the bottom drainage outlet of the oil-water separator, with an automatic discharge interval of 2 minutes and a discharge time of 5 seconds. By increasing the discharge time of the separator without affecting the normal operation of the permanent magnet variable frequency air compressor, the operating time of the permanent magnet variable frequency air compressor can be effectively extended to meet the lower operating time requirements of the air compressor. After trial operation, the permanent magnet variable frequency air compressor started automatically to pressurize. 4.15-4.40MPa shutdown, with a running time of more than 11 minutes.
Replace the pipeline check valve and install an oil-water separator:
In response to the problem of lubricating oil entering the permanent magnet variable frequency air compressor, technicians have replaced the well sealed pipeline check valve and installed a high-efficiency oil-water separator after the outlet pipeline of the air compressor. The interior of the oil-water separator adopts precision filter element filtration. High temperature compressed air enters the oil-water separator from the inlet a and undergoes cyclone separation, inertial collision separation, and fine fiber filtration to directly intercept the water and oil in the compressed air. It is discharged through the discharge port c, and the compressed air after water removal is discharged through the outlet b to meet the needs of high-pressure gas.
